A Blog about Grief, Loss, and Living Life Afterwards

Hello there. This section of Normalize Grief is going to be where I blog about my own grief journey. If you've found yourself here, chances are you already follow along @GlitterAndGrief on Instagram. If not, let me introduce myself. I am Christie. When I was 23 years old, I lost my dad. He had the flu, then pneumonia, and then sepsis. It happened very fast and was unexpected. Needless to say, I was unprepared for grief. Having never lost anyone before, grief was very unknown and quickly became very lonely. I felt nobody understood or grieved like I did. It felt like the world moved on without me. In November 2018, I created @GlitterAndGrief to share my grief journey. What I learned was it helped me and others feel less alone. Since then, I have experienced the loss of my grandmother and cat Dexter in 2020. My husband also lost his grandfather to COVID in 2021. My plan for this grief blog is to include all aspects of grief. My own grief, how I provide grief support, and just daily life with grief. Thanks for following along and allowing me to be a part of your own grief journey. I hope by sharing our grief, it will feel more normal and less lonely.
